Breast augmentation

Prior to your breast augmentation, we will discuss what your vision of “ideal” breasts is. Based on this information, Doctor Alfandari will offer you a type of prosthesis and the size. The right size is the one you will feel comfortable with. The aim is, of course, whilst respecting your wish, to give your breasts a natural appearance by placing invisible and natural feeling implants.

Clear and honest information.

During the consultation, Dr. Alfandari will inform you of the pros and cons of this procedure. A consultation is an exchange, so feel free to ask any questions you may consider useful. What are the surgical options?

There are 3 possible ways of doing this surgery, each with advantages and disadvantages. Dr. Alfandari uses them all, but will always offer you the most suitable for your individual requirements.

What types of implants?

With the evolution of the shells and the silicone gel texture, Dr. Alfandari now has several types of implants at his disposal:

The round breast implants are the original model and give a rounded appearance in the upper part of the breast (segment 1). They perfectly fit young women and the preferred procedure is an incision in the armpit. To know more?

The anatomical or teardrop implants recently appeared with a highly cohesive silicone gel. They generally give a more natural appearance with a gentler curve of the upper breast. They perfectly fit women after the age of 30 who want a more voluminous breast size. To know more?

The size is usually the most difficult choice to make in this procedure.

During the consultation, he will lend you a non-padded bra and put inside fake silicone implants. In order to get a better idea of the size, bring a small stretchy top in a pale colour. You will be able to look at yourself in the mirror and see the silhouette this gives you.

Do feel free to ask your spouse or friend to help you choose. Although the final decision is yours: the size you really want, and what you will feel comfortable with. The help that Dr Alfandari will provide you to decide will be technical: depending on your breasts, he will tell you what the maximum size is to keep a natural look or the minimum amount to put to correct a mild ptosis...

Dr. Alfandari usually sees his patients twice before surgery so you can retry the implant, and he can reassure you on this delicate choice.
Finally remember that, when we order your implants, we always have the size above and below delivered in case you would want to change on the day of the surgery.

Reimbursement?

Breast augmentation can exceptionally be reimbursed by health insurance. You must meet certain criteria that are explained in the reconstructive surgery/breast augmentation section.
